Engaging the imagination

Maëlle Daub-Laurent

Hi! I'm an Illustrator based in Nottingham, UK.

After studying Modern History at the University of Strasbourg, I worked as a French, history and geography teacher. Over those years of teaching, I learned a great deal about knowledge transmission and adapting to one's audience. During this time, my passion for drawing was nurtured with evening courses at the HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin) in Strasbourg.

Now based in the UK, I diversified my career by moving into the art and design sector, and built a professional practice based around illustration, following the completion of a Masters degree. I am currently a freelance illustrator involved with different cultural institutions in Nottingham. I also teach Graphic Design and Illustration at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies and Nottingham Trent University.
